At Crystal Mountain, recent videos still show exposed spots and icy conditions.

As snow enthusiasts eagerly anticipate fresh powder, local ski resorts are grappling with a challenging season marked by warmer temperatures and limited snowfall. Despite some snow in the forecast this week, the challenging weather delayed the start of the season and has not produced as much snowfall as many hoped, leaving skiers and snowboarders disappointed.

This season definitely feels unusual because of the lack of snow," Christine Hathaway, who was visiting the Summit at Snoqualmie Tuesday, said. "I've been out about five times this season, so I think if I go a couple more times, I'll probably make it back, but definitely, I kind of have a lot of regret for getting the pass this year."Could use more snow," Dougherty told KOMO News. "Only half the mountain's open today, so it's kind of a shock where it's like, 'Oh, we can ski the whole thing, but we get here, and it's not that at all."I tripped, and suddenly I was in a toboggan slide and gaining speed, and then realized it wasn't just a patch of ice again," Mark Christopher Thelen, a skier with nearly six decades of experience at the resort, said. "Where's the little bit of snow slush to slow me down? There was none. It was an ice sheet."The conditions were definitely worse," Dougherty added. "It's like a landmine going down any of the blues down to the bottom or any of the greens." The Summit at Snoqualmie is also feeling the impact, with many areas closed due to the conditions, and on Tuesday, only five out of 19 lifts were operational. The resort's staff says they are working tirelessly, with snowmaking and grooming teams putting in long hours to make the most of the situation. They anticipate a few inches of snow over the next two days, but urge people to proceed with caution as rocks, roots, and uneven surfaces persist."It's a rough season, but we're getting through it," Grant Goodell, who was skiing at the Summit at Snoqualmie on Tuesday, said.As the weather is expected to warm up later this week, the ski community is keeping a close eye on the forecast, hoping for a turn in their favor.Florida’s attorney general wants a nurse’s license revoked over a TikTok about Karoline Leavitt, while supporters argue the backlash is politically motivated. The Pierce County Sheriff's Office is invesigating after two poeple and a dog were found dead from gunshot wounds in rural Pierce County Tuesday afternoon. The PA shooting in North Seattle early this morning has left a 20-year-old man in critical condition, prompting an investigation by Seattle police.Washington Gov.
