Cactus League play begins March 18 vs. Cubs, one of 2 games that will be televised by NBC Bay Area.
Although MLB left teams the option to add more exhibitions to their schedule, manager Gabe Kapler said it’s unlikely San Francisco will do so. The schedule is also likely to remain devoid of any split-squad games, normally a regular feature of spring training. The Giants are focused on managing the workload of their players, even with the abbreviated preparation period leading up to the season.
NBC Bay Area will carry the Giants’ Cactus League opener on Friday against the Cubs, as well as the following Monday’s game against the Brewers.
