Senator Raffy Tulfo addressed the public on Tuesday regarding an incident where his son, Quezon City 2nd District Representative Ralph Wendel Tulfo , was caught using the EDSA Busway with his convoy. The senator confirmed that he reprimanded his son for violating traffic rules and stated that his son apologized for the transgression. 'Pinagalitan ko at nag-sorry siya sa akin. Ang sabi ko, 'Mag-apologize ka sa lahat.' And that’s it,' Senator Tulfo said during an interview.

He explained that the SUV involved in the incident was part of his son's convoy and that his son admitted to the mistake. According to Senator Tulfo, his son's driver may have entered the busway while in a hurry. 'Ang pagkakaalam ko... nagmamadali siya. 'Yung driver niya yata ang pumasok doon sa bus stop. At pinagalitan ko siya, pinagsabihan ko,' he said. While acknowledging the violation, Senator Tulfo expressed confidence that his son acted responsibly by admitting to the mistake and apologizing. He emphasized that his son did not flee the scene or use any unauthorized identification plates, demonstrating a lack of abuse of power.The Department of Transportation’s Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) previously reported the apprehension of a convoy linked to a lawmaker for unauthorized use of the EDSA Busway on January 23rd. The DOTr outlined the permitted vehicles for the EDSA Busway, including authorized buses, ambulances, fire trucks, police vehicles, and vehicles carrying specific government officials. Motorists caught using the EDSA Busway unauthorized face escalating penalties, ranging from fines and license suspensions to potential license revocation. This incident highlights the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and respecting designated lanes for public transportation
