The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, or SAVE Act, would mandate proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections, a move supporters argue is needed to secure voter rolls while opponents say it risks blocking eligible Americans from casting ballots. Sen. Mike Lee , said Tuesday that it would be essentially impossible to pass the SAVE Act through reconciliation. “It’s hard to imagine how the SAVE America Act could be passed through reconciliation,” Lee wrote on X. “And by “hard” I mean “essentially impossible.” The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act requires proof of U.S. citizenship when individuals register to vote in federal elections. “Great Job by hard working Scott Pressler on Fox & Friends talking about using the Filibuster, or Talking Filibuster, in order to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, an 88% issue with ALL VOTERS,” he wrote on TRUTH Social.“It supersedes everything else.
