Kenneth Walker III, the Seattle Seahawks' star running back, left Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Vikings due to an ankle injury, potentially jeopardizing his team's playoff hopes.
The Seattle Seahawks are facing dwindling playoff aspirations, a second Thursday night game in a short span this season, and may be without their leading running back once again. Kenneth Walker III, who missed the previous two games due to a calf injury, exited the Seahawks' 27-24 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth quarter after suffering an awkward-looking ankle injury. He was twisted backwards on a tackle and immediately hobbled off the field, deemed doubtful to return.
Head coach Pete Carroll said after the game he was uncertain about the severity of the injury but that Walker was undergoing imaging. In Walker's return to the lineup, he caught 8 passes for 28 yards and ran the ball 8 times for 31 yards. He has missed four games this season due to various injuries and has accumulated several short-term injuries in his short career. With Zach Charbonnet also seeing limited playing time after being listed on the injury report with an oblique strain, the Seahawks could be significantly depleted at running back going into their game against the Chicago Bears. This may not be a major concern as the Seahawks already rely minimally on the run
