U.S. Rep. Scott Perry acknowledges climate change, but he is not convinced humans are responsible.
There is new news about climate change and it is not good. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recently issued a 37-page report summarizing its latest finding, stating, “There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all ” . And manmade activity is the cause. This conclusion comes from the work of hundreds of scientists and has been approved by 195 countries.
But we don’t have to worry about it in the Harrisburg area, right? Wrong. The Environmental Protection Agency the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Susquehanna River Basin Commission all agree that Pennsylvania is getting hotter and wetter. The result? For one, increased risk of flooding along the Susquehanna .
That being said, isn’t it ironic that we are represented in Congress by a climate change denier? U.S. Rep. Scott Perry and the House “Freedom” Caucus he chairs, have opposed many efforts to address climate change both nationally and locally. To be fair, Perry does admit to climate change but is not convinced humans are responsible.
I suggest you Google Perry’s anti-environmental record. Perhaps this latest news will bring him to his senses. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
