San Jose State defensive linemen Cade Hall tackles Nevada quarterback Shane Illingworth during a Mountain West football game at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose on Saturday night.

Hall set a career high with four sacks against Nevada, a feat only four other Spartans have ever accomplished. He has 6.5 sacks overall and has a chance to exceed his career high of 10 set in 2020, when he was second in the nation in average sacks per game. A recent example of the group’s relentlessness came against Nevada when Hall recorded sacks on successive plays on Nevada’s final possession to help seal the victory.

“They’re invaluable. Anytime you got guys like that, they’re going to draw a lot of attention and it’s going to leave the door open for some of the other guys,” said linebackers coach Scott White.
