A group of San Bernardino firefighters risked their lives to save a young woman with cerebral palsy trapped inside a burning home. The video captures the intensity of the fire and the firefighters' courageous actions.

Dramatic video captured the harrowing moments as a group of San Bernardino firefighters bravely rushed to save a young woman with cerebral palsy trapped inside a burning home on Monday morning. The fire erupted around 11:15 a.m. at a single-story residence located in the 1300 block of N. Valencia Venue, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Protection District. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a scene of intense flames engulfing the entire structure.

Shortly after arriving, family members living at the home informed the firefighters that their daughter, who had 'access and functional needs' due to cerebral palsy, was still trapped inside. 'The mother of the victim was screaming frantically that her daughter is inside still,' said SBCFD firefighter Jesse Quicen. 'I have two children of my own so there was definitely a sense of urgency.' Quicen immediately alerted his captain, Nic Turner, and together they plunged into the inferno, knowing there was no time to wait for backup. Battling thick smoke and zero visibility, they crawled through the burning rooms, searching relentlessly for the young woman. 'We're crawling down the hallway with smoke to the floor. Zero visibility,' Turner recalled. 'My hands were getting stuck to things, cause stuff was melting around me.' Finally, they heard a faint moan coming from a back room. 'I move over and found the victim lying in the bed. I grabbed her and told her, 'I got you and I'm not gonna let you go,'' Turner said. Meanwhile, San Bernardino County Fire Captain Greg Soria and his crew arrived on the scene. Utilizing information from the woman's mother, who pointed them towards her daughter's room, they began smashing the window, creating an escape route for the two firefighters and the rescued woman. 'Once we started breaking the glass we could hear her and that heightens everything,' Soria said. 'We know we have a live rescue.' The family, grateful for the heroic efforts, shared that their 23-year-old daughter, bedridden due to cerebral palsy, remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition as of Tuesday. They also expressed immense gratitude for the firefighters' efforts in rescuing their family dog
