For Valentine's Day, the San Antonio Zoo is hosting a variety of events, including a fundraiser where people can name cockroaches and rats after their exes and watch zoo animals eat them. Other activities include animal kiss-o-grams, a hippo-scented candle, adult-only tours, a dinner with hippos and crocodiles, and a singles mixer.

The San Antonio Zoo wants to feed your rat of an ex to the animals for Valentine’s Day. For a donation, people can name rodents and cockroaches after their ex-partners and watch staff feed them to the zoo residents. “It’s the ultimate way to ex-terminate your past and help fund important wildlife conservation efforts here at the zoo,” a representative of the zoo said of the Cry Me a Cockroach Fundraiser.

Hippos are the perfect purveyors of love, according to the zoo’s Hippo Love Candle, infused with the scent of resident hippo Timothy’s poop – supposedly “the ultimate cologne in the hippo world.” “This Valentine's season, embrace nature's seductive power and make a memorable impression that takes you from date to mate,” the candle’s purchasing page says.
