Houston snapped a three-game losing streak and is in first place in the South Division.

SAN ANTONIO — The Roughnecks survived a late San Antonio rally to beat the Brahmas, 17-15, in overtime on Sunday.

After a game filled with sacks and miscommunications, San Antonio found a spark. A pass interference penalty set up Jacques Patrick for a 2-yard touchdown rush, the Brahmas retained possession via another penalty, and Parker Romo hit a 49-yard field goal with one second on the clock, allowing San Antonio to erase a nine-point deficit in a span of three minutes.

Houston snapped a three-game losing streak and is in first place in the South Division. San Antonio still has an outside shot at sneaking into the postseason with wins in its final two games against Orlando on Saturday and D.C. on April 22, both in the Alamodome. The Brahmas would also need the Arlington Renegades to lose their final two games at D.C. and at home against Houston, which would give San Antonio a chance to pull through on a strength of victory tiebreaker.

The Roughnecks faced third down with 6 yards or more to gain six times during the first half, converting a new first down on five of those attempts.
