Despite sitting 2-5 as the XFL season winds down, the San Antonio Brahmas still have a path to playoff position, ending with three straight home games.

San Antonio Brahmas quarterback Jack Coan passes against the Houston Roughnecks in the first quarter of a XFL football game at TDECU Stadium on March 5, 2023 in Houston, TX.After blaring music during practice to simulate crowd noise and chaotic environments through the first seven weeks of the XFL season, Brahmas coach Hines Ward pulled the plug this week.

“I need more commitment from the players,” Ward said. “Really, just commit themselves. Give me all they have for these last three home games, and see what happens.” As the XFL season winds down, linebacker Jordan Williams said the Brahmas are stressing that the playoff race remains within reach, as San Antonio enters the week one game behind Arlington for the second postseason spot in the South division.

When Ward reviews the Brahmas’ struggles on film, he notices that “every play, there’s that one guy that’s not on the same page, for whatever reason.”
