What should have been a day of celebration became a day of unimaginable tragedy, with an infant dying in a house fire at a birthday party, leaving another child fighting for life in hospital. Sunday was five-year-old Jordan’s birthday and friends and family were gathered to celebrate when the fire occurred. Emergency crews raced to the property on Benboyd Circle in Rokeyby on Sunday morning, as the home became consumed by flames with adults and children still inside.
” One-year-old Harlyn, Jordan’s younger sister, has been identified as the infant who tragically lost her life in the devastating blaze. Three other children were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Tenille Siely, describing herself as best friend and family, said the grieving relatives are “broken”. “Saying this day has been hard is an understatement. One beautiful baby girl has lost her life and her sister is fighting to survive,” Ms Siely wrote online.
