Rochester, N.Y. Police have identified the man who was shot and killed early Sunday morning on the city's northwest side.

Rochester, N.Y. — Police have identified the man who was shot and killed early Sunday morning on the city's northwest side.
As an adult male resident heard the suspects breaking in, he went into another second-floor room and retrieved a handgun. As Thacker walked up the stairs, a shootout between him and that resident ensued, during which Thacker was shot dead, according to police. The resident was shot once during the exchange. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
Police said the deadly shooting of Thacker appears to have been justified, and no charges related to his death are expected.Anyone with information or video relating to the incident is asked to call 911, Crime Stoppers at 423-9300, RPD's Major Crimes section at 428-7157 or email [email protected].
