A teenager was arrested after allegedly trying to enter an East 6th Street bar with a pistol early Tuesday morning.
It happened just after 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 11 outside of Moose Bar on East 6th Street near Trinity Street.
According to court documents, the bar's manager told police about a man, identified as 17-year-old Xavier Sistrunk, trying to enter the bar with a handgun in his waistband.The manager told police that Sistrunk mentioned he had a gun and then overheard his friend tell him, "Just go put it in the car."
Court documents say when police searched Sistrunk, they found a white chalky powder in his pant pocket that officers believed was cocaine, and the black Glock 23 Gen 4 40 cal pistol, which had modifications done to it. Police found a small device attached to it, which is commonly used to illegally convert a semi-automatic pistol into a machine gun.Sistrunk was taken to the Travis County jail and charged with places weapons are prohibited, possession of a prohibited weapon, and POCS.
