Chace Smith, 31, is set to serve an indeterminate sentence of 5 to 15 years in prison after he was previously convicted of second-degree manslaughter, prosecutors said. He and Timothy Tabron were driving at speeds close to 90 miles per hour — in a 30 mile-per-hour zone — when Smith struck an uninvolved car on Brown Street near Eddy Street in the early hours of Nov. 26, 2022, according to police.“Chace Smith made a series of bad choices that resulted in Alivia Curl’s death nearly two years ago," Monroe County Assistant District Attorney Drew Kroft said in a statement.
Tabron also previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and is expected to be sentenced to 3 to 6 years in prison.
