Quezon City won several local and international awards in March for its innovative programs, the local government announced on Saturday, April 8. | ManilaBulletin
"It was a week of recognition for the Quezon City government as it received various international and local awards for its efficient service to its constituents through smart and innovative solutions and practices," the local government said.
The winners will be formally announced in a virtual ceremony on June 27. They were evaluated by more than 150 professionals around the world.“Being recognized by an international award-giving body is a tremendous honor for our city. This is a part of our aim to provide timely and valuable information to our constituents through social media. This award is a testament to the quality of work that we provide our QCitizens,” QC Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
Belmonte said the Trash to Cashback program has collected over 124,000 kilograms of recyclable wastes since its launch in 2021. Meanwhile, the Urban Farmers Federation, a group of city farmer leaders under the Grow QC program, was also recognized during the Vietnam International Achiever Awards.
