Social media threats have put the football rivalry between Timpview High School and Provo High School on hold.
The high school football rivalry between Timpview High School and Provo High School Utah County has been put on hold following a series of threatening social media posts, according to the Provo School District .
The letter, which was shared with KUTV 2News and posted online by high school sports enthusiasts, is included in full at the end of the article. "Social media has emboldened us, as we believe we can hide behind anonymity or a digital face," she wrote in the letter, which was sent Thursday night. "We believe that it allows us to treat others with disdain because we do not have to see the consequences of our actions. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our actions impact others, and we must be responsible for the impact they have on our entire community."The rivalry game was not rescheduled.
