Nearly 230 students, from 7th to 12th grade, flooded the halls of Elba High School on Tuesday.

ELBA, Ala. - The first day of school is in the books for the students and staff of Elba City Schools!Principal Dr. Warren Weeks is excited students are back in the hallways and for the upcoming school year.While students and staff are eager to get on with the academic fun, Dr. Weeks stopped by classrooms to give students advice on how to successfully get through the school year like an Elba Tiger.

“I just tell them my 3 B’s. Be on time, be prepared and behave,” Weeks explained. He says the 3 B’s applies to the students and staff.Dr. Weeks says everyone is a big help when it comes to the success of the school and its students. “We just appreciate all the help from the community when they do volunteer and our students do a great job of taking care of the things we have, staying in line and doing the things they’re supposed to do,” Weeks said.

On top of academics, Dr. Weeks is excited to see how the school’s sports teams, band and other extracurricular activities play out this school year.Parts of the school received new flooring and painting. There is also a new lobby. Elba High School’s band hall got a new paint job, new flooring and there’s plans to put in a new trophy case.and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
