Since finding the reported mildew, MCPSS Board Chairman Don Stringfellow said they took immediate action and have already cleaned or replaced the affected areas. In recent days, parents have voiced their concerns to FOX10 News about the reports of mildew in parts of the school.
According to MCPSS Board Chairman Don Stringfellow, what he said was mildew was spotted around parts of classrooms and ceiling tiles. Since finding the reported mildew, Stringfellow said they took immediate action and have already cleaned or replaced the affected areas. “What’s been going on at Theodore High School is, for people who go out there, they’ve been putting a new roof on,” Stringfellow said. “In the summertime, as hot as it is today, if you have an A/C unit that goes down, or some other issue like that, a leak in the roof, you’re going to get those kinds of things that occur like that. So, when we notice it and a work order is turned in or brought to our attention, we get on it right away.
Stringfellow told FOX10 News the safety and health of the faculty and students is their number one priority. He said MCPSS will continue to keep a close eye on things to make sure they have found all the affected areas.
