The Game of Thrones star is playing the iconic Lara Croft in the upcoming series developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. On January 15, Prime Video released the first official image of Turner as the character, along with announcing that production was officially underway. While there have been many Tomb Raider movies, shows, and video games, this marks the first time that the franchise has had a live-action series. Now, Amazon MGM Studios has shared a statement with Entertainment Weekly that "Sophie Turner recently experienced a minor injury. As a precaution, production has briefly paused to allow her time to recover. We look forward to resuming production as soon as possible." Amazon MGM Studios' statement confirms that Turner's injury was minor and that filming is only being paused temporarily, with her ready to continue playing the role once she recovers.
