The Louisiana specialists are bringing their famed 'shatter crunch' fried chicken to Scotland for the first time this week with the launch of their Drive Thru and restaurant just south of Glasgow.
Food fans in Glasgow will soon be able to get their hands on the Chicken Sandwich that ‘broke the internet’ after Popeyes Chicken confirmed they open their first Scottish restaurant near Glasgow this month.
The viral hype started back in summer in 2019, when Popeyes in the US tweeted it would sell a new $3.99 sandwich - fried chicken topped with pickles and either mayonnaise or spicy Cajun sauce on a brioche bun – which went on to become a viral phenomenon selling out and seeing fans go wild for it. Marinaded for 12 hours in a signature blend of Louisiana herbs and spices, each piece is then hand-breaded and hand-battered to create that famous Popeyes 'Shatter-Crunch'.
