The identity of a driver who died in a fiery crash in Melbourne’s southeast at the weekend has yet to be established, days after the incident. The driver was killed when their Lexus veered off McClelland Dr, Frankston North, crashed into trees and caught fire just after 2am on Sunday. Despite extensive inquiries, police are still unable to identify the driver four days after the crash.
It is also believed the silver Lexus, which had the number plate RX450 SUV, was stolen from a home in Patterson Lakes the day prior. A CCTV image of the Lexus has been released by police who have appealed for any information that could help identify the driver. Police also wish to speak to the driver of a white vehicle seen in the area on Saturday and just before the crash. An image of the white car has been released.
