The Birnam Book Festival was all set to start but then the weather forecast was too bad to ignore and the organisers decided it was best to wait.
A book festival for the Highland Perthshire village of Birnam was called off at the last minute but plans are already in train for it to bounce back next year.
The highly respected folklore expert and singer Margaret Bennett, musician Lauren MacColl and Federation of Writers Makar Morag Anderson were among those due to take the mic. “In light of the severe weather warnings that have now been issued until midnight tomorrow, it is with much sadness that we will have to postpone the festival until 2024,” said The Birnam Book Festival Organising Committee.
