The arrest report says the child confessed to communicating with Sykes and said they felt that Sykes would harm or kill them if they didn’t follow through with Sykes’ instructions.

“And advised that 10-year-old that the 10-year-old should injure this child and attempt to end the child’s life, the infant’s life,” said Sheriff Chip Simmons. “Additionally, Sykes instructed the 10-year-old to cut the throat and to potentially burn down the house of the adults the 10-year-old is currently staying with,” said Sheriff Simmons.
“You’re being used as a conduit for evil in that particular situation so I would imagine there’s some things they’re going to have to go through and some assistance that’s going to be provided,” added Sheriff Simmons.
