) - Escambia County, Florida is stepping up to help assist areas of the state that are being impacted by Hurricane Helene.
With its Mobile Command Unit THOR, to support response and recovery efforts, they hit the road just after 5:30. “They’re dealing with the worst case. They’re dealing with everyone’s nightmare. So, when we get there, the only thing we want to do is be a lighthouse in their storm. We want to be able to show up, help them, bring them food, bring them security, and bring them safety. And give them a chance to just breathe,” Chief Deputy Hobbs said.
