The 50th anniversary of the race will have to wait until November 2021. NYCMarathon
. This decision was jointly made by New York Road Runners, the organizers of the race, and the New York City Mayor’s Office.
In response to the cancellation, NYRR said it is still ironing out the details regarding refunds or deferments. According to the press release, runners will have the option for a full refund or to defer their entry to the 2021, ’22, or ’23 races. More details are expected from NYRR by July 15, which will be communicated immediately with runners.
