A Central Ohio school district, nearing capacity, opens it’s newest elementary building next week. That comes with the possibility of voters being asked for a tax levy to support continued growth expected either next year or the year after., is becoming an old hand at opening new school buildings. Gordon has opened more than a dozen new school buildings, as the district continues to grow.
Voters last passed a levy in 2020, which paid for construction of a number of schools, Peachblow Crossing being the last. Voters turned down a levy in March which would have funded construction of five new schools including another high school in the district. Gordon said the district continues to grow, with hundreds of new homes being built. The district is expecting 5000 new students over the next ten years.The school board decided against asking voters for a levy again in 2024, but school officials said a levy request in 2025 or 2026 is inevitable.Stay Connected
