Detective Hadaway is accused of lying under oath in Mobile County Circuit Court.
Detective Jason Hadaway was booked into Metro Jail on Wednesday and charged with 3rd-degree perjury.According to the documents, Detective Hadaway was questioning a man named Keenta Todd in 2023.However, according to the documents, Detective Hadaway says Todd never asked for a lawyer.
Detective Hadaway was questioned about the interview he conducted with Todd by defense attorney Chase Dearman in a separate unrelated Prichard murder trial.“When I cross-examined him in front of Judge Youngpeter in the probation revocation hearing for Mr. Nixon I asked him specifically about that and he denied first extensively questioning Mr. Todd,” Dearman explained.
Dearman was quoting a ‘Giglio disclosure’ he received from the District Attorney’s office, surrounding Detective Hadaway’s credibility.
