A court-appointed receiver is trying to locate 'millions and millions of dollars' that Chimene Van Gundy allegedly stole from investors.
NEW BRAUNFELS — Chimene Van Gundy , the self-described “Queen of Mobile Homes” accused of defrauding investors of millions of dollars, skirted being held in contempt of court and locked up in jail. But she’s subject to electronic monitoring for at least the next few weeks.
Queen of Mobile Homes' Chimene Van Gundy will soon lose her $1 million-plus New Braunfels home Van Gundy didn’t appear for the 9 a.m. hearing. Her attorney, Marilee Hazel, said Van Gundy was 4½ hours outside of New Braunfels on her way to Florida to be with her adult daughter whose jaw was broken in a car wreck last week. A clearly annoyed Waldrip later told Hazel she needed to tell Van Gundy to “turn around” and come to court.
