New Braunfels is considering $3 million in tax breaks to lure a new $18 million Topgolf facility to its Creekside commercial area east of Interstate 35 . The New Braunfels City Council is scheduled to discuss the proposed agreement at a meeting Monday, but it is not yet scheduled to vote on the measure. Topgolf , which has more than 80 sites around the country, bills itself as a “sports entertainment complex” offering a high-tech golf game with food and drinks.
New Braunfels council OKs funding to buy downtown HQ from NBU Discussions with Topgolf have been ongoing since at least 2019, New Braunfels city staff wrote in a report to the City Council. “While Top Golf expressed some initial interest, there were questions around market and site viability that have since been resolved through negotiations on economic development incentives, as well as a plan to make a site ready for the proposed project,” the report said.
