Community members can choose their favorite art pieces among 25 choices from artists across Bexar County

A new double-sided mural is coming to the East Side ’s North New Braunfels Bridge — and residents have until Friday to vote on what should be displayed. There are 13 choices for one side, all within the theme of 'Legacy of the Eastside.' There are 12 options for the other side, centering on the theme ' Let Freedom Ring .' Voters can choose their favorite three entries for both sides of the bridge until 5 p.m. Friday. Creators of the winning entries will receive $4,000 cash prizes.

The opposite side featured images of hands, with the words “Join hands, let freedom ring!” District 2 Councilman Jalen McKee-Rodriguez pushed to replace the faded murals, saying residents frequently asked him about updating them.
