David Wilson, the longstanding president of Toyota Racing Development , is set to retire on December 16.Wilson has been an integral part of TRD's success, having climbed the ranks from a design engineer to the president of the organization. Since taking over as president in January 2014, he has been pivotal in steering Toyota's U.S. motorsports operations to new heights.
As the new president, Gibbs will oversee TRD's extensive operations across North America, including engine and chassis engineering, manufacturing, and administration.Gibbs commented on his new appointment:'I have big shoes to fill. Dave has been the cornerstone of TRD's growth and culture over the last 35 years. During my 28 years working for Dave, he has given me countless opportunities to learn and grow, and this is another one of those opportunities.
