The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal crash, which was preceded by a pursuit that began on Highway 12.
A pursuit that began in Napa County early Tuesday, March 31, ended with a driver and passenger dead after they crashed about 20 miles away outside of Travis Air Force Base in Solano County, authorities said.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office is overseeing the investigation and neither person’s name was released as of Tuesday morning. A Solano County spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment Tuesday morning. Napa County officials say the chase began just after midnight when a Napa County sheriff’s deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop for unspecified reasons. At 12:17 a.m., the driver crashed in the air force base’s visitor center parking lot and the vehicle burst into flames.
