Light snow is possible Tuesday night, mainly for southern sections of New Jersey, with minimal accumulations of around a half-inch or less expected, according to the Cold temperatures will remain Wednesday through Friday, with highs only reaching the upper 20s to low 30s and overnight lows in the single digits to low teens. However, winds will be light, limiting dangerous wind-chill impacts during this period, forecasters said. A clipper system will bring a chance of snow late Friday into Friday night, with 1 to 2 inches of snow possible along with potential snow squalls that could produce gusty winds and reduced visibility. Snow squalls are in the forecast for Friday as a storm system passes near New Jersey, bringing much colder air and sub-zero wind chills once again for the weekend. The most significant impacts are expected to arrive Friday night into Saturday as an arctic cold front moves through the region with strong winds possibly gusting over 50 mph at times, particularly on Saturday. Saturday and Sunday will be bitterly cold, with highs only in the mid- to upper teens and overnight lows dropping to the single digits or as low as 5 degrees below zero. Wind chills Saturday afternoon could feel below zero across New Jersey, with minimum wind chills Saturday night between 10 degrees below zero at the coast to 20 degrees below zero inland. Temperatures will begin to moderate early next week, but below-normal conditions are expected to continue through the middle of the week. The Advance Local Express Desk uses AI tools to assist in producing content, which is reviewed and edited by staff.
