Over 1,000 high school seniors from Montgomery Public Schools attended the CHOICES Teen Summit hosted by First Baptist Church of Greater Washington Park. The summit focused on equipping students with the tools and knowledge to make positive choices that will shape their future.
First Baptist Church Of Greater Washington Park held a special summit Friday to inspire young people to stay focused on success. More than 1,000 high school seniors from Montgomery Public Schools packed into the Cramton Bowl Multiplex for the CHOICES (Choosing Healthy Options in Cultivating and Embodying Success) Teen Summit. Speakers tackled a range of topics from mental health awareness to career exploration, aiming to inspire students to make bold, positive decisions in their everyday lives.
\'They are excited. They have been engaged,' said Jo Guice, First Baptist Church of Greater Washington Park Member. 'We want them to remember that the choices that they make are the blueprints for the rest of their lives,' said Guice. 'It’s bringing real life situations from other people and it’s presenting itself to you. So I feel like other people can relate from it and learn a lot,' said Jackson Shuford, Park Crossing Student. As these students gear up for graduation, they believe what they’ve learned here will help them thrive in the future. 'As seniors, we’re moving on to the next step in life. We need to take advantage of what they’re all giving us,' said Emory Goldsby, MPACT Student. 'We hope that they leave these doors with knowing that they are loved. And that we want them to be successful and we have the whole city championing for them,' said Guice
