On Tuesday, the Mobile County Commission approved two change orders for the Cypress Creek Golf Course project.
The Mobile County Commission has approved an increase in the contract amount for the contractor handling the golf course phase by $158, 187.15, bringing the total contract amount to $14.1 million. The contract time was also increased by 33 days, according to the agenda item. A Mobile County spokesperson tells us the changes include additional drainage work and work associated with relocating power lines underground.
"When we first bid on this project it was around $17 million, so that's a substantial price cut from the first bid that we had,” said Dueitt in February. In February, construction crews were making progress on the course as structures were being built for the boardwalk, park, and other amenities. Dueitt told NBC 15 news he believes the golf course will bring a lot of value to citizens and the community.
