Growing memorial outside of Greenville Police Department honors fallen officer killed in the line of duty Monday night.
Flowers and prayers grace the growing memorial outside the Greenville Police Department. It's all to honor fallen police officer, Cooper Dawson.Through her grief, Moody brought her 14-year-old son along because she wanted this to be a lesson of love for him.“I wanted to bring my son out here, take a knee, and say a prayer and really show him that there is a lot of love in Greenville,” Moody said.
“I just thought it was really important for my girls to see that there are people who put their lives on the line every day and that we need to respect those that have made the ultimate sacrifice,” memorial visitor Angela Blaylock said. Officer Dawson did make that sacrifice and many will remember him just as one message, seemingly signed by one of his sons, that read ‘Rip dad you are my hero’.
