Memorial Day is considered the unofficial start to summer. But this year, we have a storm that will impact part of the holiday weekend.
by Lindsay Storrs, KUTV Chief MeteorologistFILE - A storm that brought rain, thunder and rainbows to South Jordan on Mother's Day is seen in this 2023 photo. Increasing clouds this afternoon as a warm front moves across central and then northern Utah . A few showers may pop up across central Utah this afternoon and evening, including a few in southern Utah County. Most of the state will stay dry though. High temperatures will be warmer than yesterday with highs around 70.
A cold front will move through western Utah in the morning. Widespread rain is expected in northern and central Utah between 9 am and noon. Some of the thunderstorms embedded within this line along the front will have the potential to produce brief heavy rainfall. The cold front will slide into southwestern Wyoming and northeastern Utah by tomorrow afternoon, and the threat for heavier rainfall will accompany it.
