From troubled youth to boy band to model to Hollywood royalty… Mark Wahlberg talks to Sophie Heawood about fighting, family and his newfound faith
The actor Mark Wahlberg is sitting beside me on a sofa in a Beverly Hills hotel, muscles bulging out of his T-shirt, immaculate white trainers resting on a chair, as he tells me about the aggressive figure ruining his home life. “He’s angry, he gets violent,” he says, his face full of defeat, even though he’s no stranger to the rough stuff himself, having played countless hard guys in Hollywood movies after serving jail time for assault in his youth.
