Pennsylvania State Police arrested a 22-year-old they said concealed a handgun with the serial number scratched off, according to a release.
A 22-year-old man concealing an illegally modified handgun was among the roughly dozen arrests made by Pennsylvania State Police during Shippensburg ’s homecoming event last weekend, according to a press release.
One of the suspects, later identified as 22-year-old Evan Sipes, of Shippensburg, was arrested following a chase, police said. Troopers searched Sipes and found a handgun with the serial number “obliterated” and multiple magazines, according to the police report. Sipes — who is charged with possessing a firearm with an altered serial number, carrying a firearm without a license, resisting arrest and evading arrest — waived his preliminary hearing and will be arraigned on Dec. 30,
