Owners Max and Maria Randazzo opened the restaurant last weekend in a converted two-story house.

Bacco Trattoria & Wine Bar opened recently at 4700 Gettysburg Road in Lower Allen Township. It replaces Cafe Magnolia which closed earlier this year.

Max Randazzo said the expansion was fueled by demand. The demographics and secluded, yet busy area along Gettysburg Road were appealing.Converting the former Cafe Magnolia proved to be challenging because the couple leases the building and could only do renovations. Max Randazzo anticipates the wood-fired pizzas will become this location’s signature menu item. The pizzas, including margherita, di parma and buffalo, bake at between 805 and 810 degrees, he said.

The restaurant also features Bacco’s private label wine along with Pennsylvania wine, beer and spirits and a simple Italian menu of Italian entrees and specialty cheeses and cured meats.
