Rochester, N.Y. — A man is now awaiting sentencing for his role in a shooting that nearly killed a 24-year-old man in Greece earlier this year.

Prosecutors said Kyle Ashford, then 19, shot the victim twice in the upper body outside a home on Denise Road early May 17. Police said the victim went into surgery at Strong Memorial Hospital. Prosecutors said he eventually made a full recovery, and Ashford admitted to shooting him over a dispute."Kyle Ashford acted violently and intentionally when he attempted to take the life of another young man,” Assistant District Attorney Matthew Schiano said in a statement. “While I am grateful that the victim in this case made a full recovery, he will live with the trauma for the rest of his life.
Another suspect in the case, Marc Lattimer, faces the same charges Ashford pleaded guilty to. Lattimer is due in court Jan. 9.
