San Antonio police arrested a man Sunday after he allegedly struck another man in the head with a hatchet, police officials said. Officer responded to a report of gunfire near East Houston Street and Chestnut Street just before 1 a.m. Officers said a 30-year-old man told them said he had been assaulted by a 45-year-old man with a hatchet, according to a preliminary police report.
