25-year-old man arrested after stabbing 2, injuring 3 others in argument at North Austin apartment complex Sunday night; victims expected to survive.
Hector Contreras-Uribe was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly stabbing two people and injuring three others during an argument that turned physical at the Ivy Apartments in North Austin on Sunday night. Hector Contreras-Uribe, 25, was taken into custody in connection with the incident that occurred around 8:42 p.m. at the Ivy Apartments in the 8900 block of North Lamar Boulevard near Rundberg Lane.
According to an arrest affidavit, the stabbing began as an argument between Contreras-Uribe and the victims in the apartment parking lot. The dispute then escalated into a physical fight. Police say Contreras-Uribe retrieved a knife from his truck and stabbed two of the victims. Three other males were also injured in the altercation.
All five victims were transported to local trauma facilities with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The arrest affidavit states that all involved parties knew each other. Contreras-Uribe has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. Online records show him in custody at the Travis County Jail under a combined $60,000 bond.
