A 28-year-old man is in custody accused of causing the injuries that led to the death of a 5-month-old child in Akron, Ohio. The child died Thursday after being hospitalized for life-threatening injuries sustained earlier in the week.
A 28-year-old man is facing charges after a 5-month-old child died from injuries sustained earlier this week. Akron firefighters responded to a 911 call on Monday in the 1100 block of Lakeshore Boulevard regarding an injured infant. The child was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, according to the Akron Police Department. Akron police said detectives identified Quinte Hamilton-Little as the suspect responsible for the child's injuries. On Tuesday, the U.S.
Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended him on charges of felonious assault and endangering children. Tragically, the child succumbed to his injuries on Thursday. The Summit County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the child as Azeil Apollo Rivera. His cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head and torso. Hamilton-Little is currently being held at the Summit County Jail. Additional charges are anticipated as the investigation progresses, Akron police stated.
