A Kern County man, Wildson Tol Morales, has been convicted of multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and felony child abuse, for attacking his wife with scissors while she was holding their 1-year-old child in April 2024.
A man was convicted last Friday of attacking his wife with a deadly weapon while she held their 1-year-old infant in April 2024, said the Kern County District Attorney. Wildson Tol Morales was convicted of assault with a deadly weapon, domestic violence, false imprisonment, and felony child abuse. According to court documents, on April 4, 2024, Morales and his wife returned from a party when he attacked his wife with a pair of scissors while she held their infant in her arms.
Morales threw his wife on the floor, got on top of her, and prevented her from escaping. An underage family member pulled Morales off of her and choked him unconscious so that she could escape. Officers saw defensive cuts on the victim's hands. Blood was found on the floor, walls, and inside doors of the home. Blood was also found on the infant's clothing. 'Domestic violence is one of the most devastating and prevalent crimes in our community. It shatters families, leaving lasting physical and emotional scars that victims and their children carry for a lifetime. I am grateful for this conviction which ensures accountability and provides crucial protection for the victim,' stated Kern County DA Cynthia Zimmer. Morales's sentence is scheduled for March 4, 2025. He faces a maximum sentence of nine years and eight months. The DA's office reminds anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help at the Kern County Family Justice Center. All services are free, and no appointment is necessary
