ANCHORAGE , AK - A low pressure system building to the east is bringing in cooler temperatures statewide. Last week’s ridge brought sunny skies and warmer temperatures but this week it’s moving out. The ridge is pushing to the eastern corridor of the state as a trough moves in from the west.
Rain and showers will continue to be felt in the Aleutians, with rain and cooler weather spreading to regions such as Southcentral and the Interior. A slight decrease in temperatures will increase relative humidity, allowing for more moisture across the state. This will also suppress some wildfire activity across Alaska. Although we will see less heat and more moisture next week, fire danger still remains.
