The Wellfield Arms in Plungington faces a licensing review after Lancashire Constabulary received multiple reports of crime and disorder, which saw the pub the shut down in February
Preston City Council temporarily closed the pub and suspended the premises licence ahead of the Sub-Licensing committee meeting on Monday 6 March, which could see the pub losing its licence permanently, or alternatively a new order will be enforced.
Witnesses said the incident starting in the rear beer garden of the pub before spilling out on to the side street where a male had his head kicked and stamped on multiple times.Several people were subject to head and facial injuries when officers arrived to the scene. Another male was struck with a glass causing GBH level injuries and two received Actual Bodily Harm level injuries resulting in hospital attendance. A fourth person was recommended to attend Accident and Emergency.Read more:Since 2019, the pub has seen a string of violent fights, drug dealing, out of hours trading, and underage drinking.
