With only a handful of appearances in six years at Orlando Pirates, a defender that was recently released at the Soweto giants has admitted to failing, stating that he wasn't given a fair chance to prove himself. SLSiya Read more:
The defender had joined Pirates from Free State Stars in 2016 and introduced himself Bucs faithful in emphatic style, winning back-to-back Man of the Man awards.
However, Justice Chabalala was loaned out to Chippa United, which he says was a surprise to him. Upon his return to the Soweto giants from Chippa in 2017, the defender was sent out on loan again, this time to Bloemfontein Celtic, where he spent two seasons.Chabalala’s latest loan stint was at Sekhukhune United. “I would say I failed at Orlando Pirates; that’s the truth,” he told Soccer Laduma in the latest edition .
The Limpopo-born defender parted ways with Pirates before the start of the 2022/23 season and didn’t take long to find a new club as he penned a deal with the Chilli Boys. “I was supposed to play, not be sent out on loan so many times. So, I repeat, I failed. Unfortunately, I didn’t achieve my goal of playing regularly and win trophies with the club,” added Chabalala.“But to be honest, I didn’t get enough time or a chance to play at Pirates because if I check at the club, I only played for about a year or so in the six years I was there.
“I tried my best, and things didn’t go according to plan. It happens. But also, not everyone gets to play for Pirates and play in the Soweto Derby, so I also feel blessed. I played about 20 games, which is a big deal for me.”- Fruitful re Relationship with the Khoza family- Why was he surprised when Bucs showed him the exit door
