Jeep has unveiled a roster of six new concepts for this year's Easter Jeep Safari. The annual event runs from March 28 to April 5.
The automaker has just unveiled its roster of concepts for the annual event, which kicks off this Saturday, March 28. The latest crop consists of six 4x4s, including rock-crawling concepts, a stylish restomod, and a build you can even try to recreate yourself with after-marketSince 1967, American off-road enthusiasts have flocked to Moab, Utah, each spring for the Easter Jeep Safari.
The event, which was started by the city but is now run by, gives 4×4 lovers a chance to responsibly drive on trails through one of the most beautiful natural settings in the country. It has also, in recent years, become an opportunity for the automaker to show off the most over-the-top off-roaders it can dream up and tease some upcoming gear and parts in the process. The most intriguing of this year’s builds is the Wrangler Anvil 715. The concept, which is based on the Rangler Unlimited Rubicon, was inspired by the Kaiser Jeep M715,. The brand’s designers have reimagine the military truck from the 1960s and the ultimate Hemi-powered overlanding rig, with a raised roof with integrated skylights, a roof rack for any gear that doesn’t fit in the cabin, and an onboard air system for quick tire pressure changes. There’s also the XJ Pioneer, which is a restomod based on the 1984 Cherokee XJ. Jeep boosted the donor vehicle’s ride height by two inches, equipped it with wider fender flares to accommodate its 33-inch all-terrain tires, and added a custom cooler disguised like an old Apple Macintosh Plus. Just as eye-catching is the fully loaded Wrangler Buzzcut concept. The Vitamin C Orange two-seater features a lowered roofline , a custom rollbar, and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder equipped with a Mopar cold-air intake.Rounding out the sextet is the Wrangler Laredo concept, which tries to streamline the Willys to its core elements; the Grand Wagoneer Commander concept, which, unlike most versions of the brand’s most luxurious, is ready for off-roading fun; and the Gladiator Red Rock concept, which was inspired by the Easter Jeep Safari’s organizers. Eager to see these concepts in the metal? All of this year’s Easter Jeep Safari builds will be on display at the automaker’s home base at Walker Drugs from Monday, March 30, to Friday, April 3. The full event runs through Sunday, April 5.Bryan Hood is a digital staff writer at Robb Report.
